The word Graffiti comes from the word graffito, which means ancient wall drawing or painting. And could be seen in ancient cultures such as those in Egypt and Greece. Graffito could also describe a writing on a wall in a public place. The word Graffiti was first mentioned by archaeologists to designate informal writings on tombstones and ancient monuments.
The modern Graffiti had its origin in the late 60's. Around this time Graffiti was used as a cheap way for political activists to show their statements, and at the same time used by gangs to mark their territory. Graffiti was found in Philadelphia.
